Darcy Twarog is a art-director-slash-creative director-who-thinks-strategically-and-writes-well, whose work is relevant and resonant and inspired by more than just other advertising.

My career includes national agencies in Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary, freelance work, and time as an in-house Creative Director—I’ve worked on each and every advertising touchpoint. I’ve helped win pitches, drive change, generate results, and gain award recognition.

Creative problem-solving keeps me happy. Crafting the work keeps me dialed in. I believe the best work is emotional, entertaining, informative or helpful. It’s observant, insightful, and human. Often funny. Usually unexpected.

I bring junior-creative enthusiasm combined with experienced understanding—I enjoy finding the sweet, sweet, sweet spots between creative opportunities and business realities.

Working in teams and building off each other makes this business a pleasure. I have experience working with researchers, strategists, CEOs, illustrators, puppets, prop builders, sandcastle artists, CGI otters,, potato farmers, karate kids, red pandas, country-singer brand voices, thousands of jellyfish, and runaway drones, amongst others.

Beyond advertising, I feed my need for creative problem-solving by hacking furniture, occasionally restoring boomboxes, and curating a vintage/foreign poster side business. Also, watching the best and worst of films.

I don’t have friends. I got family.
