About Darcy

After time at national agencies in Calgary and Vancouver Darcy returned to his hometown of Edmonton to gain operations and leadership experience, share what he’d learned, and leech off of family.

They’ve cut him off, so he provides creative work to agencies, studios, business and organizations.

Darcy finds connections between business objectives and audience interests to make brands understood, liked, and remembered. He’s worked on everything from brand assets to customer experiences, from conceptual advertising to tactical systems, from nimble and scrappy social solutions to full-scale broadcast productions. He’s won (and lost) client pitches and creative awards.

He thinks about what the audience cares about. For example, he gets that writing in third-person feels weird, but also knows the author’s discomfort doesn’t mean readers think about it. If you are thinking about it now, yes, he/I did write this.

He has a solid knowledge and appreciation for the distinction between creative expression and commercial reality. He stole that sentence from a job posting because he knows it’s stated perfectly.

A creative that enjoys doing the work, Darcy enjoys collaboration and helping partners thrive. He admires ideas and insights over ads—unless they entertain, inform or offer value. Darcy’s a creative with unique influences, an empathetic sense of observation, and a curiosity about human behaviour. He calls himself a “student of comedy”, whatever that means.

He don’t have friends. He got family.
